With many interactive exhibits at Newcastle's Discovery Museum, including authentic armour, medieval gossip, Victorian science experiments, 60s fashion and state-of-the-art gadgets, the Discovery Museum is popular with all the family, with many activities for children. The star exhibit at the Discovery Museum is without doubt the Turnbia, the world's first turbine-powered ship that was built in 1894 and was actually the fastest ship in the world at that time.
